Network Marketing was introduced to me in’91. I was in the restaurant business all my life. Network Marketing was completely new to me and I didn’t have a clue of how it work or how to go about it. The one thin I realized is that they both dealt with people. They were similar , but very different at the same time. In the restaurant business you waited for people to come to you. Whereas in Network Marketing you had to go to them. Usually friends, work associates and relatives.
So how was I going to do this? I used to watch this guy early in the AM with the big teeth telling you how to believe in yourself with an infomercial on a set of tapes called “Personal Power.” His name is Tony Robbins and he was very convincing so I ordered his tapes after much contemplation.
Tony states on the very first tape that 10% of the people who order the tapes never even listen to them. They come neatly wrapped in cellophane and these people store them on a shelf somewhere. Can you believe that. Not me I listened to those tapes over and over again. I had hoped for some magical bullet from them. That never happened, but that was more my problem than the tapes.
One thing I did get out of those tapes (they weren’t doing CD’s yet) was the phrase “Take Action.” That made of lot of sense to me. You see you can have all these plans and goals, but if you take no action nothing will happen. Well I thought that when you got involved in Network Marketing you just bought a kit and some product and waited for the money to show up. that is what I was lead to believe. Thank goodness it is not like that any more.
In Network Marketing today companies have become very sophisticated with the marketing tools they have plus the various methods on how to do the business. Again nothing happens until you take action. Most often people go into “overwhelm” (another benefit of the tapes) by thinking that they have to do too much everyday. don’t try and take giant steps when baby steps is all that is required. Just make sure you you “Take Action.”
